sjTasks vs ClickUp
ClickUp’s idea is one app for everything: tasks, docs, whiteboards, goals, sprints, time tracking, chat and AI, in as many views as you can name. Its free plan is generous and its paid plans are inexpensive per user. Teams who want every tool in one window, and enjoy configuring, get a lot for the money.
sjTasks has fewer switches on purpose. A task has a handful of fields, the reports answer four questions, and the whole team — clients included — can use it on the first day without a setup call.

- Ask a question in plain words — "what is late for Jane this week" — and get a table back.
- Work from anywhere, on any device: a fast web app built for a phone on a bad connection, with nothing to install and nothing to update.
- Tasks that arrive by email and by Slack, and notifications you can reply to.
- Reports on estimates and logged time on every plan. On ClickUp, dashboards and timesheets begin at Business.
- Guests never counted, with no seat formula to check before you invite a client.
- A flat price, so a growing team is a number on a page rather than a line on an invoice.
- One daily or weekly summary email that carries the content.
- Very little to configure and nothing to keep tuned: a task, its fields, its notes and files, and the reports.
- Almost nothing is destroyed: work is canceled, projects are archived, and what an admin does delete waits 30 days in a trash.
