Your own domain and branding
On Premier the team carries your name, your logo and your address instead of ours. What that means and how to set it up.
Everything on the other plans says sjTasks: the top bar, the browser tab, the top of every email, the address your clients type. On Premier it says you. Two settings, both in Team settings → Your name on the door, both an admin's to set.
Your branding
Give the team a display name, a colour and a logo. From then on, for everyone on the team and every client you have let in:
- the top bar and the browser tab carry your name and logo where they said sjTasks;
- the sign-in page does too, when they arrive on your own address;
- the emails the team receives — a note on a task, the daily summary, a welcome — open with your name and logo instead of ours.
Our public website is never rebranded, and the emails about your bill still come from us: those are between you and sjTasks, not between you and your clients.
The logo is a PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 1 MB. It shows beside your name at about 36 pixels tall, so a wide, simple mark works best. Remove it and the name stays on its own.
Your own address
Type the hostname you want, something like tasks.yourfirm.com, and press Save hostname. The
page then shows two records to add wherever your domain's DNS is managed:

Add both, wait a few minutes for DNS to catch up, and press Check. When both records are
right the hostname is verified and we are told; we switch on the certificate for it within a
working day, and from then on tasks.yourfirm.com opens your team. Until then it says
Verified with a note that the address is on its way.
What happens on your address:
- your people and your clients sign in there and see your branding;
- someone who is not on your team sees nothing at all — to them the address does not exist;
- the front page of the address is your dashboard, not our website.
The hostname has to be on a domain you own. It cannot be a sjtasks.com address, and no two teams can share one. Clear takes it off and the team is back on sjtasks.com; nobody loses anything.
