Account and billing
Referring a team
Give a month, get a month. Every team has a referral link; send another team to sjTasks with it and, when they start paying, their first paid month is free and so is your next one.
Every team has a referral link from the day it exists. Send another team to sjTasks with it and, when they start paying, two things happen: their first paid month costs them nothing, and one month of your own plan is credited to you. Give a month, get a month.
Where the link is
Open Team settings and find Refer a team. The link is there to copy, and beside it a small form sends it to an address with a line from you. Anyone on the team who can open Team settings can share it — a colleague's contact at another firm is exactly who this is for. The teams you have brought are listed underneath, each with where it stands.
Your clients count too
A client you have let into a project as a guest sees one quiet line on their project: Want a team of your own? Start for free. If they take it up, that is a referral from you. Nobody has to send anything, and nothing changes for them on your project.
What they get
A team that arrives through your link starts the way every team does — free, no card. When they choose a plan, their first paid month costs nothing. It is applied at checkout on their Billing page; there is no code to type. The offer is one month, once, on the first plan the team pays for.
What you get, and when
The day their first real payment clears — their second invoice, since the first one was free — one month of your plan is credited to your account and comes off your next invoice. A month is worth what your plan costs monthly. On a yearly plan it is one twelfth of the year, taken off your next yearly invoice.
We tell you at every step: when somebody starts a team from your link, when they choose a plan and your month is in the pipe, and when it lands. Each one is a notification and an email.
On the Free plan you earn the month too. It is banked, and pays for your first month the day you choose a plan. A banked month that is not used within twelve months lapses.
It is always credit, never cash. It comes off a bill of yours and nothing else.
Once per team, twelve a year
A team you bring earns you a month once, whatever happens to them later. Up to twelve months a year; beyond that, the next one waits for a person at sjTasks to look before it is awarded.
What waits for a person
Some referrals are looked at by hand before anything is awarded, because they could be a firm referring itself:
- the person who started the new team also runs yours, as its owner, an admin or a member;
- both teams' owners are on one company's email domain;
- both teams pay with the same card.
Being looked at is not being refused — a real firm with two teams trips the domain rule. And if a first payment is refunded or disputed within thirty days, the month that came from it goes back with it.
